Legendary jump jockey Sir AP McCoy joined a Jockey Club initiative this week, to introduce children from disadvantaged communities to racing. Recent research found that 40% of 12-18 year olds would consider working with equines but many have never visited a stable, a racecourse or been near a horse. Sir AP showed a group of children how to feed and care for a horse and introduced them to gallops, their daily routine and behind the scenes life at a racecourse.
