Biography
Lucinda Russell OBE is one of the UK’s leading racehorse trainers, with success on all the big stages. Lucinda has trained two Grand National winning horses – Corach Rambler who triumphed at Aintree in 2023 and One For Arthur in 2017. She trains at Arlary House Stables near Edinburgh alongside her partner and 8 times Champion Jockey Peter Scudamore MBE.
Lucinda has been training National Hunt horses since 1995, training over 700 winners including 11 graded winners at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals.
She trained the phenomenal Corach Rambler to success in the 2023 Grand National as well lifting a 4th back-to-back Ultima Handicap Chase trophy at the Cheltenham Festival.
She also enjoyed success with Ahoy Senor who won a Grade 2 contest at Cheltenham in January and at Aintree in 2022, amongst others such as Brindisi Breeze who won at Cheltenham and Mighty Thunder who won the Ayr Scottish Grand National. Giovinco is another star in the yard, winning 3 from 3 over hurdles this seasons
Lucinda was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2018 for her services to horse racing.
